Why you're too Scared to make a Living from your Passion

make a living from your passion

The System has a strangle hold over our lives in two vital areas - personal and professional.

Last month, I explored how it constrains you personally; influencing you to be anxious about the future, keeping you distracted through information overload, making you afraid to act for fear of what other people may think or say and encouraging you to spend your life chasing instead of living in the moment.

Don't end up Sleeping in Bed with your Mommy

A couple of days ago, I read an article in the Sunday Times Magazine about depression (Entitled 'The Sad Lads'). It focused on 3 young men, all in their twenties who, inexplicably, started experiencing this condition.

The Insanity of Humanity

I'm currently watching 'Beyond The Flood'. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio and focuses on the devastation being caused by climate change. For today, 30th October, it's free on a ton of different devices and on YouTube. My advice is to watch it.

The 5 Ways The System keeps you Trapped (and what to do about it)

Trapped by The System

Do you have any idea what you are truly capable of?

Can you grasp the awesomeness of the life you could be living RIGHT NOW?

You, yes YOU, were born with the potential to be great and have all the resources needed to be happy, loved and wealthy.

What, then, causes the vast majority of us to lose sight of the bigger picture? What causes us to lose belief in ourselves, suppress our calling and make the majority of our decisions based on a fear of what could go wrong, rather than the possibility of what we stand to gain?

Why it's OK to want the 'Impossible'

Achieve the impossible

I was watching the film, The Gambler, on DVD about a week ago and there was a monologue in it that completely blew my mind. It was one of those pieces of dialogue, very similar in sentiment to the, 'our great war is a spiritual war, our great depression is our lives'  speech from Tyler Durden in Fight Club, that perfectly captures the sense of disillusionment that many of us feel with modern life.

Do you believe in time travel?

I do!

Not in a 'Back to the Future' sense of the word (although wouldn't that be cool), but I do believe in our ability to go back into our minds and memories and relive experiences from the past.

Some of you will know that, when I'm not running this website and promoting my book, I work as a hypnotherapist. One of the techniques I trained in is called Time Line Therapy.

Is Setting up a Facebook 'Fan Page' a Waste of your Time?

Facebook Fan Page waste of time

I now have over 1000 'Likes' for my Facebook Fan Page - Yay!

Cue fist pump, celebrations and fireworks!

While I'm being slightly sarcastic in my jubilation, I should pause for a moment to reflect on this minor achievement.

Are you 'The Greatest' or a Failure?

Muhammad Ali screw the system

Last weekend, I went to the Muhammad Ali exhibition at the O2 in London.

I left the venue buzzing. Not only was I dazzled by Ali's boxing prowess and career, I was awed by the strength he showed in standing up for what he believed in and touched by his humanity.

But I also left the venue in a deep state of thought. Many of Ali's quotes were plastered around the walls and most of them referenced his incredible self-belief. He went around telling people he was 'The Greatest' and this was even before he won a championship belt.

The 3 Questions you MUST ask before giving up on Something you Love

3 Questions before Giving Up

Today, I'm writing about giving up. Ostensibly, in relation to your dreams, but what I'm about to say is just as relevant to giving up on a quest to lose weight, a relationship or even a contest, as it is to a cherished life-long goal.
